Tommy Trash Unleashes “Monkey In Love”
We’re not quite sure what the connection between Tommy Trash and monkeys is, but we can definitely give him the benefit of the doubt. After the huge success of “Monkey See Monkey Do” and subsequent remix package (both released on mau5trap), Tommy comes to Steve Angello‘s Size Records for his latest installment, titled “Monkey In Love”. Tommy is fresh off a remix for Destructo‘s track, “Higher,” and an original titled “Blair Bitch Project” for Dim Mak Records.
The long-haired Australian producer does not veer from his trademark electro sound, by layering a futuristic melody on top of a rather mellow bassline. He adds snares to make the track build, and prepare the listener for his heavy and grinding drop. Tommy definitely does not disappoint, adding to the hype with a “YEAH!” sample before hitting us hard with a masterfully created electro drop. This upcoming Size release was one of many first played on Steve Angello‘s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix on March 30, 2013. However, Tommy first played the track as an ID at the Stereosonic Festival in his home country, but not his hometown: Melbourne, Australia.
With over a month left until the track’s release, you can definitely expect to hear it soon on many radio shows, and live performances everywhere. The aforementioned release date for this track is July 22, on Size Records, as always, via Beatport. Keep your eyes on Size, as the label has new singles coming from the likes of Norman Doray, Hard Rock Sofa, and the long awaited collaboration between label boss Steve Angello and Russian duo Matisse & Sadko.
