RECAP: Hardwell Presents Himself Perfectly With “I Am Hardwell”
One of the bigger producers at the moment, Hardwell, kicked off his worldtour “I Am Hardwell” yesterday. In a sold out and therefore packed Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, the dream of Robbert van de Corput came true to launch his first worldtour in his career.
Opening act: Dannic
The opening of the event was for protegee Dannic. From 22.00 till 00.30 it was his task to warm up the crowd for the big master. He did this with style, starting with nice, loungy tracks when everybody came in, went for a drink and slowely moved to the dancefloor. At around an hour after the start, the set became more and more energetic. Many hands were raised and everybody was feeling it.
Dannic warming up the crowd
Dannic showed that it’s not for no reason that Hardwell supports him completely. The young Dutchman is, just like Dyro, who also passed by, becoming bigger and bigger in the scene and for him this is an achievement as well. The set was a perfect warmup for Hardwell and everybody was pumped when Dannic ended his set. It was now finally time for Hardwell, the moment many visitors waited for.
Hardwell
After a couple of minutes with exciting and preparing music, Hardwell immediately kicked in like we’re used to from the Dutchman. With a mashup of SHM’s “Antidote”, Eric Prydz’ “Everyday” and Swanky Tunes & Hard Rock Sofa’s “Here We Go”, the crowd already went mad in the first minutes. These will be very short and especially very entertaining three hours.
Hardwell showed why he is so popular
Hardwell put an enormous amount of energy in his sets and with over 50 tracks, the diversity was immense. Huge tracks like “Wakanda”, “Zero 76”, “This Is What It Feels Like” & “Apollo” made the crowd go crazy, just like the enthusiasm of Hardwell did. He proved himself to be a great host, with a superb future.
It says something when less than a quarter of the crowd left before the ending time. Everybody wanted to see Hardwell and be part of the first part of his worldtour. Curious when he will attend your country? Keep an eye on his “I Am Hardwell-website”!
