Will.I.Am Steals Music [Part 2]
In what is being called “poor form” by Jono Grant of Above & Beyond, Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am recently ripped off songs from Anjunabeats, the trance trio’s record label.
The two tracks in question are from Will.i.am’s fourth studio album, ‘#willpower’.
Will’s track ‘Let’s Go’ featuring Chris Brown is said to copy Arty and Mat Zo’s Anjuna hit ‘Rebound’.
Also, Will’s track ‘Bang Bang’ is said to be extremely similar to the well known drop in Sandro Silva and Quintino’s festival smasher ‘Epic’.
Listen to the tracks and comment.
Although pop acts using dance music samples is widespread as of late (see Flo Rida), the brazen use in this case is noteworthy due to the fact that no one from Will’s camp asked for permission.
Mat Zo has deactivated his Twitter but claimed he is “not bitter about this”.
In a Facebook post, Mat Zo wrote: “Arty and I are not bitter about this, more surprised. We knew Will.i.am was interested in this track, but declined working with him at the time.
“I really and truly appreciate all the support you are giving me and Arty in response to Will.i.am’s copyright infringement. However, this doesn’t excuse the horrific abuse you’re sending the way of Will.i.am and Chris Brown, and it especially doesn’t excuse being racist.”
Chris Brown has already pleaded ignorance, stating “I don’t even know who Mat Zo or Arty is?”
Wow, never liked his "music", but what a poser. His name should be "WishIwas A. Musician"
Unbelievable big artists like Will.I.Am. just don't care :S.
