There is only one word to describe this track, and honestly most DV & LM tracks, and that is “massive”. Wakanda is unapologetically big room house, combined with tribal rhythmic builds that make it possibly one of the more creative tracks they’ve put out. While their use of the tribal chant is a bit limited in its repetitiveness, I like how these artists are branching out from their comfort zones. There is something about tribal house, and tribal music in general that is so danceable and while they may be difficult to incorporate into our standard 4/4 beats, maybe dance music needs to evolve to be a bit more involved in the world of music theory. Who says you can’t dance in 6/8 or even 3/4. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are taking steps in what could be a really interesting direction for dance music. Plus, the track is filled with energy and is a great listen. Check it out.
