Niglio’s remix of TJR’s hit Ode To Oi is an eccentric take on an already great track. From the beginning, the track has lightly affected gypsy guitar which is already a leap away from the norm when it comes to trap music and as it gets to the first drop, it jumps into a melodic, yet very airy version of the same riff. I liked what Victor did here because it shows his range of producing ability, and is an interesting musical idea, especially for trap music. As electronic dance music progresses, I really enjoy seeing artists mix various genres together as each time someone tries something new, there is always the chance that it will yield some new kind of sound. Honestly, one of the things that is so great about EDM is that the barriers to entry are low for new artists. All you really need is a DAW, and a bit of time training and you can start producing music. There doesn’t have to be years and years of training on an instrument, and music theory which means that anyone can throw their musical ideas into the ring and the genre is constantly evolving.
