Payday EP Out On Audio Safari
Who: Lars Moston, Streiflicht, The King Regards
What: Payday EP
Where: Germany, The United Kingdom
This EP is the bees knees. It includes two tracks, as well as a remix of each and each one is absolute top notch deep/tech house. I love the ambient chords over the break to Payday and the incredibly groovy percussion underneath the main riffs. It’s almost tribal in its use of looped vocals, and feels a lot like summer. It puts you in a trance with its main riff, and brings you out with its frenetic break just to pull you back in again. It reminds me of a club in the caribbean somewhere on a summer night that’s just cool enough to be comfortable, but hot enough to make you want to kick back in flip flops and a tank. Streiflicht’s remix of said track is a bit lighter, but still grooves so incredibly hard. To be honest, it seems to be a bit more of a tweak than a complete remix, but it features Oliver’s vocals a bit more. It’s still great however and I have a hard time figuring out which I like more. Too Right’s beat is a bit brighter and content-wise is much fuller than Payday, but to be honest The King Regard’s remix absolutely knocks my socks off in this light. It puts that UK sound on already incredible techno making it honestly one of my favorite tracks this month. With dissonant organ stabs and a pounding, deep bass line this track will make your party-goers groove harder than most anything you could play. Get this EP.
