While two Dutch producers using Barack Obama in their track seems like a shameless marketing ploy to US EDM fans, Vicetone’s Hope is a great quality track featuring a strong Walden-esque melody line, and powerful accompanying synths. It conveys a lot of energy and honestly, what I think hope would sound like as a house track. Its a great, uplifting piece of music and definitely worth a download.
Their choice of speech excerpts however is quite suspect as some of the messages Obama is getting across are not all related to hope. Some outright say that America is the greatest country in the world (amongst a few other non-related quotes from Obama) and it ends up really diluting the meaning of the track and pushing me more towards shameless marketing scheme rather than high quality musical track. But, at the end of the day it really is about the music, so listen and enjoy.
