International award winning, soulful house phenomenon, DJ Black Coffee, has once again redefined house music through the release of ‘The Africa Rising’ DVD.
The DJ, who is also Soulistic Music Director, has put a stamp on his legendary designate of being the domain of innovative ideas in music.
Due for its first official Swazi public screening at Mavuso Sports Café on Thursday, November 1, 2012, the live DVD is a musical experience like no other that will surely place South Africa firmly on the international entertainment scene.
Unleashed
This is not the first time Mr Soulistic, as he is popularly known by his associates, has unleashed a novice concept where he set a world record through his 60 hour non-stop deejay-ing marathon performed at Maponya Mall, South Africa over a year ago.
“All proceeds from that event were donated to charity through an organi-sation dubbed The Black Coffee Foundation which he set up a couple of years ago. He did this to fulfill his urge to assist the underprivileged” said Mavuso Sports Café Manager Karly B.
Imaginative
Recorded live at Moses Mabida Stadium in Durban, South Africa on December 16, 2011 and produced by Black Coffee with the assistance of Glenn Van, otherwise known as DJ Strategy, the imaginative staging of the much anticipated DVD has marked the elevation of homegrown South African house music into a world class entertainment experience.
The DVD has been receiving maximum airplay from local and international music channels since its release a week ago and features performances from celebrated South African artists in the likes of Zakes Bantwini of Mayonie Productions, Marisa Guzman of Jucy Lucy, Bucie Nqwiliso who’s voice has been a signature sound in a series of songs in a host of Black Coffee’s produc-tions and is signed under Demor Music, the legendary Black Moses from The Soul Brothers as well as Zano Nzima, Thiwe Mbola, Soulstar Mthimkhulu, Tshepo Nkosi and Mahlatse Riba (all under Soulistic Music) among others.
