Bingo Players Drop Their New Track “Out Of My Mind”
Who: Bingo Players
What: Out Of My Mind (Original Mix)
Where: The Netherlands
When did Bingo Players go hardcore mainstream progressive? Not too sure. It’s been kind of a quick switch to the genre and I don’t like it. But if you look at Out Of My Mind, you’ll understand why. It is the epitamy of progressive, unimaginative, manufactured for the clubs tracks. Its that kind of music that you see Green Day make now at the tail end of their career. You want to like it, because its Green Day, but its missing that part about it that makes you really enjoy it. Those catchy melodies, and the music that makes you want to sing along. It’s lost that X factor.
Let me take a step back for a minute though and analyze this from a less biased standpoint as I tend to dig on Progressive a lot for its lack of imagination and tendency for producers to start shooting out new tracks like burritos at a lacrosse game. The track is produced well and as a club banger, it serves its purpose by conveying high energy music that makes you want to jump around and accidentally stomp on the person next to you’s feet awkwardly and then move to another side of the club.
But I guess what I’m trying to say is what happened to The Bingo Players of Devotion and Cry (Just A Little)? They used to have such a unique, and funky sound and recently with tracks like L’Amour, Rattle, and Mode it seems like they decided just to hop onto the Big Room Progressive bandwagon. I can’t heartily recommend this track as a music enthusiast. As a sound design enthusiast definitely and for anyone who really LOVES progressive house this track is for you. I just wish it was less of an “Uno! Dos! Tre!” kind of thing and more like a “Warning”.
