Nicky Romero Produces “Right Now” For Rihanna
The album “Unapologetic” by Rihanna who’s going to be released on November 16th has a Dutch twist.
The music of the song “Right Now” is from the hand of the Dutch DJ Nicky Romero. It is Rihanna’s next single.
“I have a large contribution to “Right Now”. It is her next single and that looks good on my cv. I think I am the first Dutchman who has worked with Rihanna”, says Nicky.
Romero already has helped David Guetta behind the scenes on the first track “Fresh Out The Runway” on Rihanna’s new album.” The team of Rihanna is satisfied, so there are already applications for even more songs for her. This opens even more doors for me. We have also produced songs for Will.I.Am and Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls.”
Nicky recalls his first acquaintance with Rihanna. “David and I worked for a week in the studio in London. While we made music, Rihanna entered the room in a bomber jacket. She had a hat on and a beer in her hand.” She looked like she could have been a girl out of my neighborhood. “She went on her ease listening to my dance tracks and the hiphoptracks of David and chose two numbers. Now I have already experienced a lot, but it was still very special to meet a superstar like Rihanna. I got goosebumps.”
Romero’s career develops rapidly. Romero stands at number 17 in the DJ Mag Top 100. He was the highest entry ever in these rankings. He started three years ago and at the beginning of this year signed a contract with David Guetta, who introduced him to international pop stars.
“David is the greatest artist that there is on dance area. He discovered me this year and introduced me in the music industry. I also produced two songs on David’s new album Nothing But The Beat 2.0.”
Nicky is determined about his future. “I’ve also released a number of hits under my own name and work for artists. I do like both. My goal is that world famous artists contribute to my album instead of the other way around: Nicky Romero featuring Lady Gaga for example. I will not stop before that happens. And I still have some years ahead, so it needs to succeed.”
