Boys Noize Drops New Album Titled “Out Of The Black”
Who: Boys Noise
What: Out Of The Black
Where: Germany
Recently, I posted a collaboration between Boys Noize and Snoop Dogg (or Lion, whatever) titled Got It which was off Noize’s new album. I hadn’t yet listened to the whole thing enough so I waited to make sure I digested the album fully, as Boys Noize can be a bit on the edgier side of dance music. However, the album as a whole is quite good and really sticks to that minimalistic, yet very techno Boys Noize sound. The track list is as follows:
01. What You Want
02. XTC
03. Missile
04. Ich R U
05. Rocky 2
06. Circus Full Of Clowns feat. GIZZLE
07. Conchord feat. Siriusmo
08. Touch It
09. Reality
10. Merlin
11. Stop
12. Got It feat. Snoop Dogg
My personal favorites tend to be the collaborations between Boys Noize and (usually) a vocalist as he has a very unique way of complimenting other artists. His music itself is great, but can be a bit intense at times and isn’t generally for casual listening.
Circus Full of Clowns is a wonderful track with a very interesting feel. The groove tends to fall just behind the down beat which makes the song almost sluggish, but in a very cool way. Conchord is a bit weaker, but has an oddly disco feel, yet still is very Boys Noize in its sound.
XTC and What You Want have been out for a while so most likely you have heard these, but they are still great tracks and worth their inclusion on the album.
Ich R U, Rocky 2, Touch It, Reality, Merlin, and Stop are where Noize really digs into his sound. These tracks are the meat of the album and while they come from similar areas, are each differentiated in very unique ways and are interesting listens.
If you like Boys Noize, this album is a must however for the rest of you who have yet to really experience this producer, give him a chance. While techno may turn some off, Boys Noize is known for high quality music.
