Vato Gonzalez Shows How It’s Done At ADE Next
In 2011, Vato Gonzalez became the latest Dutch house producer to break through on the world stage. Featuring rap group Foreign Beggars, his ‘Badman Riddim (Jump)’ shot into the UK Top Ten. At ADE Next, the DJ/producer will conduct a masterclass dissecting one of his club hits. During the event, Vato is going to lead us through the entire process, from the first spark of inspiration to the final product.
Since his arrival on the scene in 2007, 29-year-old Vato Gonzalez amassed many thousands of downloads from his Dirty House mixtapes before leaping to the big leagues with ‘Badman Riddim (Jump)’. Born Björn Francken in Spijkenisse (also Afrojack’s hometown) near Rotterdam, Vato controls his own booking agency and record label, Dirty House, putting out tracks both produced by himself and by other artists. In the past year-and-half alone, he has remixed big names like Taio Cruz, DJ Zinc, Rizzle Kicks, The 2 Bears, Skept and Sway, while collaborating with none other than Diplo and releasing on Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried label. It’s a miracle he’s getting any production work done at all, clocking in DJ slots left, right and centre year round.
