Pierce Fulton Drops New Sink Or Swim EP
Who: Pierce Fulton
What: Sink Or Swim/Mr Mime
Where: USA
Pierce Fulton has a very unique style to say the least. One I have yet to wrap my head around, but can appreciate very much as he creates the music he would like to hear and not the next big room progressive hit. He really puts himself into the music and it’s great to see such a young artist making waves in the DJing world. His new release includes two original progressive tracks: Sink Or Swim, and Mr. Mime.
Sink Or Swim feat. Bebe Rexha starts in a very typical pierce way with very progressive synths slowly faded in. However, the way he brings in the grinding bass line and the chords he chose to go underneath the melody synths are top-notch. The way they go with the lighter sound of the intro riff is really satisfying in its own right as well. Bebe’s voice is also a great choice as she has a very innocent, and airy voice that goes perfectly with Pierce’s style. The track carries a lot of emotion and power with it which I thoroughly enjoyed. If only for this song, buy this EP.
Mr Mime is an intense progressive track that, while a bit on the repetitive side, is a worthwhile listen for its overarching synth break that includes some really interesting background chords. They accentuate the melody line in a unique way and give the song a nice, refreshing break from the majority of the song which includes a pumping bass and very trance influenced synths.
Sink Or Swim is such a great track that I would recommend this EP to anyone who enjoys progressive house. To be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of Pierce Fulton before this point. He had a few songs I liked, but nothing really caught my eye like that song. Pierce, you have converted me and have my full support. Keep making awesome music.
