Zabiela takes Hot Chip’s original and turns it Deep House with his remix. The track can be described as very much “out there”, what with its very dissonant intro, but is unmistakably deep house with the very tone-heavy bass and light drum beat. However, the track changes pace very suddenly with an ambient, melodic, synth build that takes the piece and puts it on a completely different track all together for a bit of time until finally, it resolves back into its original sound. Although this time, the bass takes a much more prominent role which is what I liked best about it. The 80’s synth bass sound is hard to use effectively and Zabiela does that very well. I really enjoyed the combination of the synths and the bass, in contrast to the vocals as it gave the track a very interesting vibe. Give it a listen and let me know what you think.
