Dirtyphonics Puts Out A Rocking Remix Of Marilyn Manson
Who: Dirtyphonics
What: Marilyn Manson – Slo-Mo-Tion (Dirtyphonics Remix)
Where: France
Browsing Soundcloud, I originally came across this track and was a bit skeptical. Marilyn Manson? How good could this possibly be? And yes maybe I should have given Dirtyphonics the benefit of the doubt, but trust me after this track I will no longer ever doubt the talent and musical abilities of this group. This track is the heavy metal of the EDM world. Staying true to the Manson vocals and a bit of the original song (woohoo electric guitar), the track starts off full of energy and after what seems like the first drop, it has you thinking “okay this is pretty good”. But wait, they lied. That’s not the drop. In a moment of absolutely dubstep epicness, Dirtyphonics’ remix drops into one of the most tonically and melodically awesome dubstep songs this month. Using both Marilyn’s vocals, and a melody that is both very interesting in how it is expressed as well as progresses, the song skips between many different varieties of sounds (I especially enjoyed the sound comparable to a jet plane flying by if jet planes were equipped with speakers and were playing songs). If the first drop wasn’t enough, Dirtyphonics has an even more interesting second drop in which they change the tempo completely and vary their original melody just a bit which sounds just as exciting and satisfying. Check this track out. For sure.
