Afrojack Disses Paris Hilton’s DJ Career
Last week we reported on Paris Hilton’s calamitous DJ debut in Brazil and now, it looks like ex squeeze Afrojack isn’t too happy with her career move.
The Dutch DJ, who recently produced a series of tracks for Hilton, vented his frustration with her DJing skills in a series of radio interviews saying he was “pissed off” that she had started DJing and suggested that her set was pre-recorded.
Afrojack went on to say, “As everybody knows, I have been working on some tracks with Paris a while ago, but her trying to become a DJ was a complete surprise to me. Then I saw the video and I think this proves once and for all that edm is all about skills and quality. It is simply not possible to become a good DJ unless you put lots of hard work and years of sweat in it. I’m afraid Paris underestimated this.”
The DJ then went on to vent his anger even more saying, “I think it’s really important that if you seriously want to go in front of a crowd and DJ, you actually take the time to practise becoming a DJ. It’s hard work, you know – as a lot of people say, it’s not just pressing play. You have to know how the laptop programs or CDJs work, you have to know what the equaliser is, what the effects are. You can’t just pitch your flanger up and down and wave a flag.”
Afrojack then went on to say it was a face palm moment for dance music and insisted again that the set was pre-recorded.
Wow, we wont be expecting a reunion anytime soon then. But, considering Afrojack’s part in introducing Paris to the scene and producing several tracks for her we think you’re going to have to shoulder some responsibility for this one Mr Van De Wall. Look what you’ve created!
