Hardwell & Wiwek – Chameleon [June 29 – Revealed Recordings]
With the release of United We Are in the rear-view mirror, Hardwell has his sights set on new music. The Revealed Recordings label boss has gone in a completely different direction with his next release as he teams up with fellow Dutchman Wiwek for “Chameleon”. This new track was a centerpiece of Hardwell‘s Ultra Music Festival set, and dance music fans all over the Internet pinpointed the collaboration with Wiwek basically right off the bat. Hardwell recently dropped his latest Revealed compilation, while Wiwek released “Miami” with Gregor Salto and a remix for Martin Solveig & GTA‘s “Intoxicated”. This collaboration between Hardwell and Wiwek will drop on June 29.
It’s no secret that Hardwell‘s specialty is big room, and Wiwek‘s is jungle terror, so the direction this collaboration took is no surprise. The breakdown in the drops both have the distinct sound of each artist, and their strengths blend together in a pretty cool way. The breakdown has a pretty typical Hardwell sound to it, with a simplistic melody and energetic synth. The composition of “Chameleon” shows a pretty clear focus on the drop. That’s where the Wiwek sound kicks in: the drop has a bouncy bassline to it and a creatively chopped up vocal sample. The final product is a big-room smasher that has already been proven to be massive on the biggest of stages.
“Chameleon” will be released on June 29 on Revealed Recordings.
